Nonprofit University is a professional development subscription series for all levels in your organization. Taught by university faculty and subject matter experts from across the region, Nonprofit U’s interactive and engaging workshops cover all aspects of nonprofit operations and management.
About the Institute
The Institute of Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development is an interdisciplinary community that works to improve nonprofit efficiency and impact in the Capital Region. Founded in 2016, the Institute is a collaborative of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, the Colleges of Public Health, Social Welfare, Criminal Justice, Business, and Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cyber Security, Albany Law School, and Albany Medical College. The Institute embodies the University at Albany’s priorities of engagement and service.

- Develop, strengthen, and retain a robust talent and leadership pipeline for the nonprofit sector in the greater Capital Region;
- Create affordable professional development opportunities for nonprofit leaders;
- Support community-based research on issues affecting the nonprofit sector and communities they serve;
- Stimulate the exchange of ideas among researchers and nonprofit practitioners;
- Equip the nonprofit workforce by expanding nonprofit management degrees, certificate programs, and courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Our Team
Pam Skripak, Executive Director

Pam has spent her career in the field of education, human and organizational capacity-building, and program design and development. Pam is a trained facilitator of circle practice. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Women’s Studies from Hamilton College and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. Pam served as a youth educator in Peace Corps Ecuador.
Dhanisha Nandigama, Graduate Intern

Industrial / Organizational Psychology
Dhanisha earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and combined psychology and neuroscience from the University at Albany and is currently a second-year I/O psychology MA student. She is a co-leader on the diversity and inclusion assessment on nonprofit boards in the Capital Region.

Julie Redmond, Graduate Intern

Nonprofit Management
Julie is a second-year public administration MA student with a concentration in nonprofit management. She serves on the board of JaJa's Kids and has been instrumental in developing the operational infrastructure of Nonprofit University.
